Gasoline Prices Rise While Diesel Prices Remain the Same

PHNOM PENH: The price of regular gasoline has risen to 4,150 riel per liter, while the price of diesel remains 3,850 riel per liter. These prices will be fixed from June 1-10.

Cambodia imports all of its fuel, primarily from Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, which leaves the country with little control over oil prices. However, the Royal Government subsidizes the retail price of fuel at 6.5 cents per litre to assist the people and their livelihoods.

The Ministry of Mines and Energy has been in talks with the Ministry of Economy and Finance to eventually establish a national company that can explore potential offshore oil deposits to reduce Cambodia’s reliance on imported fuel.
